Baby Samuel in Carlisle

It's been a while since we last photographed baby Samuel... he's grown up so much!

Let's start: here he is with blue bear:

...and on his jungle playmat (but I'm not sure what he's thinking here)...

Anyway, Sophie is a great big sister:

Samuel loves his Mummy...

...and his Daddy.

And here they all are outside, enjoying a Carlisle summer. ;-)

A London Wedding in Richmond Park

Vanessa and Gareth were recently married at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park: a great day with lots of surprises (including the sunshine, woohoo!).

The girls got ready in a lovely room at nearby Warren House:

and Vanessa looked fab... very calm, cool and collected:

The boys, meanwhile were at Hampton Court Palace:

Grand surroundings, full of tourists wandering around in the background... timing was everything for these shots. ;-)

The day's colour theme was green...

...with these lilac vintage roses

After the ceremony, Vanessa's horse turned up at the Lodge: nice surprise, Gareth!

And we managed to steal a very brief couple of minutes with baby Isla for a couple of portraits before she completely zonked out!

And before long it was dark... time for just a couple more quick photographs as the sun disappeared.

What a great Lake District Wedding!

Suzanne and Tony were married at Linthwaite House on Windermere, managing to have an eventful but completely relaxed day: lovely when that happens!

Tony surprised Suzanne with a Rolls Royce: nice!

Anyway, winding back in time, here's Tony earlier in the day with little Jacob. (Linthwaite House gardens are gorgeous.)

And then Tony with best man. Jacob still a little unsure he wants to play this game...

And what about Suzanne? Just getting ready with champagne up in the lovely Loft Suite.

After the ceremony, everyone went down to Windermere for a boat cruise...

And after all that excitement, back to Linthwaite House to relax...

Thanks to Sue and Tony for a great day: enjoy the rest of your time in the Lake District.

Louise, Dave and family near Penrith

Close to our place, this lovely family was looking for something a little different to the family portraits they'd enjoyed in the past.

So we hatched a plan to start from their home and then drive to a spot on Ullswater to make something interesting... luckily the weather did us proud.

So at the family home we'd almost rearranged the living room when Louise hit on the idea that we could do something interesting if we pulled a sofa into the back garden... great idea Louise!

Then some quick portraits to make use of a gorgeous pool of light I found...

... before we set off for a corner of Ullswater with boulders and trees and gravelly shoreline to explore. We did a few different setups... this one with an old fallen tree was the first to catch my eye tonight while downloading the images:

Louise and Dave: much more to come but hope you enjoy this preview!

Jacqui, Tim and family

I've just had a great weekend playing with a whole variety of dogs, from little puppies to a very lively border collie. Speaking of which, here she is, relaxing in the front room with her owner, Jacqui.

And an outdoors portrait with Tim: it was a glorious sunny day as you'll see in a second...

Oh, and back indoors for a quick portrait with visiting grand-daughter...

So then we set off into the sunshine and down the road: Jacqui and Tim live in a fab location with woods and open fields all around. Would have been madness not to take advantage of all that...

Anyway, crazy Molly was very happy to finally be out and about, and I have to say she was better behaved than a lot of the pets I photograph!

She loved being in the fields, running around like crazy, looking for her stick...

... and then not letting go of it!

Great session. J&T: hope you enjoy this preview and we'll organise a viewing shortly.

Video of Baby Samuel's Portrait Session

I'm very happy to post a slideshow of a recent baby portrait session here for Paul and Fiona. Enjoy!

Rachel and Alex married at the Merewood on Windermere

Rachel and Alex's wedding at the beautiful Merewood Country House overlooking Windermere was a real treat this weekend. (Bit of a longer blog post this time because I've been a little too busy to post much recently!)

Anyway, it started dull and rainy in the morning over Windermere, but then cleared up for the afternoon: the clearing rain inspired some quite interesting photographs of the girls (see below)!

Oh, the cake: haven't come across this style before... cool idea to trap a flower in that glass bowl there!

So the girls got ready in the beautiful corner suite at the Merewood... Champagne toast from Dad and the girls...

Rachel looked fantastic...

Meanwhile, down the road at the Low Wood Hotel, Alex was putting the finishing touches to his attire.

And all the boys were being fairly laid back about things, just enjoying the day. Definitely the best approach!

After the ceremony, we stole a couple of minutes away from everyone to make some portraits. Way too many to show here, but this is one of my favourites from the few I've processed so far.

Well, the sun did come out in the end, and the girls wanted to emulate a certain Hollywood crime-fighting trio. No prizes for guessing! (Great colour scheme too.)

All the boys came out to join us, so here they all here, together with the newly married couple in the lovely hotel grounds.

And let's finish with Rachel and the girls enjoying the clearing weather in somewhat dramatic style -- cool sky!

And that's all so far from a quick sortie into this wedding's mountain of photographs. What a great day!
