Alexis and John’s Wedding at Seaham Hall: a Preview

What a wedding! So here goes: a full preview of Alexis and John’s fabulous day at Seaham Hall. Difficult to get the day down to just a few images but let’s try...

So, starting off with lovely sparkly things... including the family shoes: Jimmy Choos, Converse pumps and silver ballet slippers, what else?!

And while Alexis was getting ready...

The twins were, well, yes in the end they got ready too!

And here are the lovely bridesmaids and elegant set of bouquets.

Over with the boys, bow ties were causing a few problems but everything came together just fine in the end!

So downstairs for pre-ceremony champagne in the lovely front room.

How about this: a full set of very smart fellows:

Beautiful rings and a lovely letterpress card from Alexis to John... you can't beat letterpress printing!

Anyway, then the beautiful bridal party got on their way...

...rings exchanged...

...and meet the newly weds!

Outside, the weather was fabulous, so on to the terrace for confetti and congratulations.

And a walk through the hotel: Alexis has a thing for elephants from childhood, so this part of the spa was a must!

With a setting sun and guests enjoying the hospitality, Alexis and John enjoyed each other's company after a hectic day.

And then, what do you know? Elvis turned up! What a legend!

Coming up: Alexis and John’s Wedding at Seaham Hall

A fantastic day at Seaham Hall for Alexis and John’s wedding day with all their families and friends! Here’s one from the day, with more to come shortly.

Website redesign!

At last we’ve finally put the new version of our website live. As many of you know, we’ve done this to refocus exclusively on weddings after the busiest time ever recently. So just weddings now and no distractions!

I’m biased, obviously, but the new website is worth a little visit for the new photographs up there including some of our work from last year: some brilliant weddings!

Here’s a selection of favourites from my trip in the archives: enjoy!

OK, this first one is from a trip to Holland a couple of years ago. After the wedding, we got permission to shoot some photographs on an old warship in the harbour and this is still an image that I enjoy after all this time:

Back home, this was the gorgeous vintage-inspired bouquet from a wedding at the Rampsbeck Hotel on Ullswater, with catering and a marquee by Sarah and Andrew of Bakerwood Marquees.

A lovely wedding at St Begas’ Church on Bassenthwaite next, with the bride arriving in a VW camper-van. :-)

And a more recent one at Sharrow Bay with a boat-trip on Ullswater. See more from this wedding.

Down to Windermere next, and one of our Linthwaite House weddings:

And then a little further afield to Richmond Park in London with a setting sun and a lovely spot under the trees:

A wedding from a few years ago, and still a favourite: starting in Gretna Green and then down to Smiths Hotel for the reception...

Then further afield again, this time to the Matara Centre in Worcestershire. A fantastic day!

And back to the Lake District, for an Armathwaite Hall wedding from last year:

This cake caught my eye again while sorting through the archives. Not sure but I think this was at the Merewood Hotel, Windermere. Lovely isn’t it?

Oh look, another shot from that trip to the Hague: this is a civil ceremony in Holland... just like the registry offices over here... ;-)

Awwww, and the lovely Kerry at the end of a looooong day last year:

Kelly and James, Engaged!

Kelly and James will be married later in the year at Greystoke Castle, so we enjoyed the sun on a farm near to there for some engagement photos.

Here's a selection from the initial post-production... much more to come!

Cumbria Life

And thanks also to Cumbria Life this month for their feature on our wedding photography. Good choice of images to illustrate our work but I thought I'd post all the photographs I submitted for inclusion here since we're not constrained by physical page sizes!

I think most of these weddings were from last year and they include events at Linthwaite House and the Merewood on Windermere, Armathwaite Hall, the Rampsbeck on Ullswater, St Begas Church on Bassenthwaite and Sharrow Bay.
